I disagree with Heather here. I thought the Von Drehle piece was hilarious ("he plucked a news clipping or report seemingly at random from the stack and peered at it with a puzzled look. Then he tossed it back onto the pile."), a small but vivid piece of additional evidence that Trump was completely out of his depth and not an excuse for security breaches at all.

I thought Von Drehle's piece simply offered an explanation as to how Trump may have ended up with a random selection of classified document, press clippings and other documents. I didn't feel that he was excusing Trump. Newspapers traditionally offer a range of opinions, even if they themselves are perceived as being liberal or conservative. I just skip over those I don't like (Thiessen). I often comment but I don't go cancelling my subscription to either the NYT or WaPo just because they …
