But when Barbaro asked Nagourney about the context of the current debate, he never mentioned the 2019 Bostock decision, which gave trans people full civil rights, during the Trump administration. A Trump appointee, Gorsuch, wrote it. But to include that would be to show that it was the targeting of trans kids by the left - for sex changes - that created this entire backlash.
