We were told for so many years about the negatives of Pluto’s move into Aquarius, and there have been many challenges the past few years, no doubt, coming into this time.

I really beat myself up after a social interaction that does not go perfectly well. I wonder if the person will stop being my friend or think of me as a dud. But then I remember everyone I know has bad days, tired ones too, or moments when they just are more silent than usual. I never judge them, so why can’t I let myself have those moments around other people too?
Today I am reminding myself that I don’t always have to be the most interesting person in the room, all of the time. I can simply show up as I am, be kind and interested, and that’s enough.
This is the index for First Take, my short-form review series.
Named after the sports show of the same name, First Take is where I give my (relatively) initial thoughts on a work of fiction that I’ve completed reading, watching, etc.
Originally, I did First Take on Twitter. But I feel like I’m not really getting much traction. Some people would like it but then it would be forgotten by tomorrow. I’m hoping by doing this on Substack Notes, I’ll get some real engagement.
Also, I can’t help but see the writing on the wall for Twitter as we know it. But I digress.
My early episodes (Ep. Zero to III) will still be on Twitter while the rest will be on Substack.
Nota Bene: The stories which are still ongoing will have an asterisk next to its name.
