However, the Maine winter is NOT "bleak" - it's a lovely, quiet time (when the noisebox is off), that allows time to think, to read, to learn, to rest, to have hot cocoa after a brisk walk outside, to watch the snow fall (I love the word "snowfall") or the brilliant stars (and without having to stay up too late to see them, taking advantage of the long nights), to write letters to distant friends (I know, what a concept, but who doesn't love getting a letter?), and to be still. Or write very run-on sentences.
