Just got a notification that it was on this day in 2008 my band H Bird played our last ever show. Tommy Flynn’s, Camden, London. The Green - Mikey Georgeson & Eddie Argos - opened up, and John Moore (Jesus & Mary Chain, Black Box Recorder) jumped onstage to play drums with them for one song. They did Art Brut’s Move To L.A. and dedicated it to Kasia who was actually moving there the following week. It was wild, and an emotional show

I remain very proud of what we did. I flew to London in 2006 with a dream and some pop songs and things turned out quite magical. I still think Violet, Pink Lights & Champagne, and 1000 Lights are our contributions to the great pop canon. Not bad for an idea I had one autumn afternoon after seeing some polka-dot teacups on the Portobello Road, coming home to listen to Dusty Springfield, and thinking ‘I wanna start a band that sounds like today’. And I want Violet played at my funeral
