Somehow I had managed to avoid seeing Scorsese’s After Hours for all these years.

But I finally watched it last night, thanks to some prodding from

It’s minor Scorsese, which is like saying, it’s minor Saul Bellow or minor Cormac McCarthy — even the minor stuff is masterful.

It’s one of my favorites. His greatest loom so large that movies like After Hours and Age of Innocence are somewhat forgotten even though they are phenomenal.

Seconding A Bridge Too Far. Incredible movie and I'm not just saying that as a former paratrooper, I had a VHS copy as a kid and watched it over and over. Speaking of Edward Fox, I don't think it's been in a Film Club before but it absolutely should be: The Day of the Jackal. A perfect thriller.
