Seeing middle names or initial displayed in photography/art has been irking me for a while, it feels classist* to me.
E.g. 'Andrew J Gifford' sounds posher than 'Andrew Gifford' but I can't find much around this other than;
*Possibly - quite likely in fact - unintentionally, as I'm sure most people who do this are just continuing what's gone before.

On Buddhist NYD we hiked a couple of miles' pilgrimage to the birthplace of the Dalai Lama. Grandma, whose family I stayed with, hadn't walked much as she was in poor health in her advanced years, but her determination got her there.
