This essay by William Deresiewicz put tears in my eyes—tears of relief. I'm hoping Deresiewicz's essay, and other recent essays, are the beginning of the political left's resistance against the excesses of our politically left brethren. This essay has an intro by Robert Boyers that I disagree with in certain ways (and agree with in others) but I'm delighted that Boyers has published an essay that challenges his beliefs. Imagine that: a person of the left engaged in a healthy and productive disagreement with another person of the left.
