A more cynical, and IMO more realistic take: The Israelis are shredding all PR norms. The US has never had issues with attacking civilians and civilian infrastructure back to WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Somalia, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and Iraq. The only change is that now they're just more open about admitting to, or even bragging about it.

They aren't even pretending to adhere to any humanitarian principles or the rules of war. It's full mask-off season, thanks to the Israelis and the US's open support for them, dating to Biden. A new age of naked aggression awaits us.
