So much of queer and trans history lives in print. Our history has often been obscured, misrepresented, or erased, yet zines, newsletters, and DIY publications have endured—allowing us to document and trace our histories, unfiltered, uncensored, and unapologetically authentic. There is a rich legacy to tap into, one that offers not just our history but blueprints for survival. We need them now more than ever!

I wanted to drop by this morning and share some archival buttons from a recent processing project at work—little relics of queer history. Some read “Baby Butch,” “Clit Power,” “Cause Dyke Drama,” and “Smile If You’re a Lesbian.” Which one’s your favorite?
