DanniStories, I'm so, so sorry to hear what a terrible time you are going through. I'll wing up a prayer for you.

I'm sorry. Living on the same, 66, alone. A good friend turned me on to FMHA loans in the early 80's or I'd be in living in an old folks high-rise. Rents are obscene. I'd rather live in a van, if I had to move.

Thanks so much for great research but also acting so quickly.

It would be embarrassing for him, if he had the ability to feel shame. It's astounding that a former POTUS would act this way. But given his pedigree and the brand he's built, it's entirely consistent.

I'm still horrified that we elected this person as president.

Florida ended its gas tax holiday (DeSantis is FL governor, right?) on Oct 31 and gas taxes thus rose about 30 cents a gallon on Nov 1. So, who will Floridians blame?

Isn't it amazing how the Republicans refer to their mob riot as a "tourist visit?" These are false equivalencies, especially since the republican rioters were summoned by the President of the United States.

That's the phrase I was looking for - unequal condemnation - and also the use of the "yeah, but" argument. I didn't let my kindergardeners get away with that. They had to say a fact, then they could say a feeling. And THEN they had to give their twin the same opening. My parental hand itches to set up a dope-slap line for these "adults"....

Months of rioting by BLM? There were protests in the summer of 2022, after the murder of Georgia Floyd. These were overwhelmingly peaceful; violence was perpetrated by some people, AND THAT VIOLENCE WAS CONDEMNED. The J6 coup attempt was undertaken by followers of Trump who wanted him to remain in office, and these rioters injured many, many members of law enforcement. If we’re concerned about “unequal condemnation” of violence, Republicans must condemn the attack on Mr. Pelosi.

Ian you are right. If people don't care, and begin to accept this as normal discourse, than we lose. ALL of us.

So long as Republicans don’t pay a price for their mendacity and encouragement of violence and/or excusing if it, things will only get worse. It seems like many Americans care more about gas prices than they do about democracy or political violence.
