I don't think there is an epidemic comparable to anything like we see in most Western countries. The meticulous tracing, testing, quarantining etc. seem to bring results. But the fact that many people I know from different parts of China including Wuhan, Nanjing and Beijing know about compounds being quarantined, or have individuals being quarantined (without any travel history) suggests the virus is not as under controlled as reported.
