Some early thoughts on Notes (from a professional content strategist)

There’s some misunderstanding around this feature. It’s not Twitter. Really.

Your notes stay within your network, which means there’s less potential for a viral note.

And because there are no hashtags, you can’t push reach with keywords or topics.

So three strategies to make use of it:

1. Quote and restack writers you admire or want your network to notice. If you help them they may, one day, help you.

2. Use Notes to get something new across to your subscribers that isn’t worth a full post (like this note!)

3. Look for notes with lots of comments and engage with those writers to drive engagement to your substack.
