As a teenager, I was fascinated regarding people in other countries and ended up with about 30 pen pals from different countries. The Univ of Minnesota had a place where you could pay 50 cents for a pen pal from another country. A school teacher had our whole class send in for a pen pal to engage with people in other countries. So that has stayed with me my whole life, and I enjoy meeting people who came here from other countries and learning about their life there. I was in 6th grade for my 1st pen pal and am now in my 70s and still have the same curiosity. I feel sad when people are angry they live here as I enjoy a multicultural world.
