In confronting Israel’s critics, one area I need help with is settlements in the West Bank. I am familiar with the different Areas A, B, and C from the Oslo Accords and now the vast majority of Jews that live in the West Bank live in Area C.
What I don’t know is in your opinion, how much of an obstacle are those settlements to an eventual two-state solution. For the purposes of my question, take Hamas out of the equation for a moment and assume that the belief system of Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib has blossomed throughout the West Bank and Gaza and we have a liberal Palestinian polity that is ready to live peacefully next to Israel. What happens with the Settlements in the West Bank and do Israel’s critics have a point that their expansion is an ever-growing and additional obstacle to an eventual Palestinian state?
Or is that issue overblown by the "Israel is always wrong" crowd.
I think you may have covered this before but heck if I can find it. Also, thank you for your tireless work to help educate the anglosphere about Israel and both its beauty and flaws.
