The app for independent voices

I hear you. This was the experience of all of my husband's friends who work in the same field as him. Even though the federal government instructed the banks to fire them, their positions seem to be important enough, and qualified applicants are going elsewhere, so they all kept their jobs. (Actually, one of them is "important" enough that he regularly yelled at his bosses and called everyone nazis during meetings, yet they've given him much larger than usual bonuses.) Meanwhile, anyone we know who works more of a blue collar job had almost no choice. I felt like we should have done more because we did have security, but going to protests did absolutely nothing, because as you say, the media were not there, or outright lying. The trucker protest was the only thing that felt like it would make a difference, but most people think they were protesting over nothing. Apparently some of those protesters are planning on going to Ottawa for Canada day weekend, I overheard a guy at a pub last weekend say "go home, get over it". How is change supposed to happen when the majority are "over it". There was no outrage on the parts of people not involved in this corner of the internet.
