If someone has EB2 NIW approved, is chargeable to India, and has a 2019 priority date, do not answer the I-485 question from the I-140 approval date alone.

The clean split:

NIW approval answers one question:

"Was this EB-2 I-140 approved?"

It does not answer:

"Can I file I-485 this month?"

For July 2026, USCIS says employment-based applicants must use the Final Action Dates chart. The July 2026 Visa Bulletin lists EB-2 India as unavailable.

So a 2019 EB-2 India priority date is not enough for an I-485 filing under EB-2 in July 2026.

That is a legal timing question. Use counsel for status, travel, dependents, and filing-risk decisions.

The separate evidence question is:

"Should I keep building NIW evidence, test EB1A, or clean up the I-140 strategy?"
