Reduce "Ego Threat" stress

Currently reading The Telomere Effect, and found the part on how we perceive stress inspiring 🤓

When our ego is on the line, we're more likely to have a "threat" response to stress. For example, when we identify ourselves as good athletes, students or professionals, a stressful situation that can shake our sense of self-worth, such as a big match, a final exam or an important presentation can easily be viewed as a "threat" and trigger an extreme stress response.

"When you see just how broad your values run, you validate your sense of self-worth, so there’s less of your identity riding on the outcome of a single event."
