It’s a sort of like peer pressure: everyone around you thinks one way, it’s hard to break out of it. I’m seeing the same thing - highly intelligent people, who I believe are critical thinkers believe that government will never do anything that would hurt them. Thinking different from their circle of friends and being a pariah in their circles is especially hard for young people
