There is really not too much of a Left left. Traditionally, the Left represented the desire for freedom, equality, peace, and autonomy, and while many Americans want these things for themselves and their kind or group, most of them don't particularly want them for other people. The attachment of liberals to war and imperialism in the 20th century alone has been pretty consistent, going back to Roosevelt (Teddy, that is) and Wilson, followed by Roosevelt 2, Truman, Kennedy, LBJ and so on. I'm afraid Mr. Bezmenov has it about right. I suppose if there were a real Left, it would be propagandized out of existence, if not actually locked up.
