I don't fault your analysis, but I think it needs to extend to both parties. The majority of the Democrats in Congress will not give voters what they want (Medicare for All, etc.) because they are beholden to their corporate sponsors. The chance to reform our financial system after the crash of 2008 died with Obama. Today, Manchin is just the tip of the iceberg. And the Democratic establishment spends money to prevent populist Democrats like Nina Turner, etc. from getting elected. We need to spend more time looking within.
Art, While I share similar fears and concerns, with, perhaps, the most consequential midterm elections less than 5 weeks out, my one thought is to summon the resilience to do all I can to affect their outcome. One goal is to spread Raphael Warnock’s message to as many inconsistent, Democratic-leaning voters as possible. His message reads, “A vote is a kind of prayer.”
