ED NOTE
Although the Republican Party cannot officially support another party’s candidate, all Ada County voters — regardless of party — should support Doug Traubel for Ada County Sheriff! Doug has proven his deep knowledge of the Idaho and US Constitutions and his absolute dedication to integrity and courage throughout his career and throughout this campaign. Ada County voters should reward him and themselves by voting for him as the next Ada County Sheriff.
_____
🔥Doug is a lifelong Republican who supports both the Republican Party and the Constitution Party platforms. He ran under the Constitution Party banner because doing so was the only way to overcome the momentum of the well-connected incumbent in the May 2024 primary.

Why this debate is important! From the press release...

“This debate is more than just an opportunity to hear candidates speak. It is a crucial moment for the community to hold them accountable, asking the tough questions that matter most to the future of Ada County. The public deserves a chance to see how these candidates stand on the vital issues, respond to pressing concerns, and demonstrate their fitness for one of the most critical roles in our county.”

“As citizens of Ada County, we have the right to hear from those who seek to serve us, to scrutinize their policies, and to understand who they are as leaders. The candidates’ willingness to engage in this public forum speaks volumes about their respect for our Constitutional Republic and their readiness to serve. The absence of a candidate could reflect poorly on their willingness to engage with the electorate, a concerning sign for any public servant.”

“Recent history has shown us how damaging it can be when public officials evade scrutiny, avoid debates, or dismiss opportunities for public vetting. The people of Ada County refuse to accept such behavior from our future sheriff. We expect – no, we demand – that those who seek to lead us respect the principles of our Constitutional Republic and stand before us to make their case.”
