Walmart, the #1 employer in America (excluding government of course), risked exposure of their woke ways by Robby Starbuck and friends. Instead they decided to work with Starbuck to peel back their DEI programs with common-sense human friendly changes. Walmart committed to:
Surveys: Walmart will no longer participate in the HRC’s woke Corporate Equality Index.
Products: Identify and remove inappropriate sexual and / or transgender products marketed to children.
Funding of Grants: Stop funding grants and events that lead to inappropriate sexualized content targeting kids.
Equity: Racial Equity Center, established in 2020 as a special five-year initiative, will NOT be renewed.
Supplier Diversity: No longer provide preferential treatment and benefits to suppliers based on diversity. No quotas. Financing eligibility no longer requires certain demographic data.
LatinX: Abandoning this term in official communications.
Trainings: No more racial equity training through the Racial Equity Institute.
DEI: Walmart will stop using the term DEI. Instead, they’ll simply ensure a respectful and supportive environment for ALL associates and customers.
So far you’ve helped me change corporate policy at Tractor Supply, John Deere, Harley Davidson, Polaris, Indian Motorcycle, Lowe’s, Ford, Coors, Stanley Black & Decker, Jack Daniels, DeWalt tools, Craftsman, Caterpillar, Boeing, Toyota and now WALMART!
