Idaho Freedom Foundation’s Pork Report will release Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
The Latest Pork…
Idaho State Police added nine new Ford Mustangs to their fleet earlier this summer. Why? "We use it for parades. It’s a full-time patrol vehicle assigned to one of our troopers. It’s a fun car. It’s a pretty car. Obviously, those kinds of vehicles help a lot with public interaction." These parade floats will cost the taxpayers $720,000 over the next 5 years.
Bonners Ferry (a traditionally conservative stronghold in North Idaho) showed no interest in a city-sponsored LGBT Pride event. However, self-described satanists received a grant from the Idaho Arts Commission to organize such an event, which included a children-themed drag show. The same sponsorship may happen again next year with Idaho Arts Commission grants, which receives $2.2 million in taxpayer dollars annually.
ED NOTE
Why are Idaho’s tax dollars funding arts commissions? Is arts funding — woke or not — the proper role of government? Nope!
