Motherhood hurts so good.

Am I heartbroken because they’re hurting or because they’re closer to not needing me?

And it’s simultaneously a series of heart explosions — watching your kids connect, care, laugh, experience.

Is my heart exploding because they’re growing or because they’re learning, and getting closer to not needing me?
