Ok, trying out this Notes feature for shortform updates. I love the concept, though I also suspect no one who subscribes to my Substack (or any Substack) ever visits the Substack web site or has downloaded the mobile app, and just reads issues entirely in their inbox (with the exception of people who write their own Substack). As such, how would subscribers find out you’ve posted a Note? Anyway…

Now reading:

• Stella Maris, Cormac McCarthy (Libby) — finished and loved The Passenger and have much to say about its surprising amount of humor and how different it is from all his prior books; this is the slim prequel that is comprised entirely of conversations between Alicia Western and her shrink — it is already far less enjoyable, but I’m reading it for completeness.

• Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Gabrielle Zevin (Kindle) — after what feels like every single person I know raved about this book, I’m a third in and certainly see why it’s been a crowd-pleaser.

• Under the Dome, Stephen King (Libro) — loving the audiobook of this epic, bizarro, underrated King joint, read by Broadway star Raúl Esparza.
