How to build an agent

I think there will start to be larger communities of people who, similar to the Amish, pick a certain cutoff of technology that they don’t go beyond.

If I had to choose something more than ten years ago, I’d choose flip phone era. Like, Motorola Razr v3 circa 2004 vibe.

Limewire, myspace, all allowed.

Rumspringa would mean going on tiktok for a weekend. Many won’t come back 😢

This spring, I will sell my laptop, move to a foreign city (Paris), and attempt to build a new life there without the use of the internet. Once a week, I will go to the library to check email and share my writing. Otherwise, I will rely solely on the postal service and a 2002 dumb phone. The question: is it possible to find a home, community, and love without the internet? Let’s find out.

Edge City has a new website and I really like it.

Our designer Nico and I spent a while on it but I think it came out well. Curious for thoughts!

I just want a feed that teaches me something, makes me laugh, or surprises me.

Twitter is actively depressing me. Literally, I actually feel lower after I’m on there. It didn’t used to be that way. I'm spamming the 'not interested' button like crazy but not helping.

Anyway, I guess hopefully Substack is that place. Any recommendations for how to craft a nice feed here?

I've been to Bhutan a few times in the last few months re the new city project and the way they are approaching it is very interesting. I was initially unsure, but I'm pretty excited now. I'll write about my experience there soon!

Yes! Arco Santi is a great example. I mentioned Bauhaus briefly, but it would be cool to do a deeper dive into it at some point.
