IIRC in recent years Canada has been exporting about 20% its GDP to the United States. Given the size of the American market and the two countries' proximity, the US is realistically going to remain Canada's largest trade partner for the foreseeable future (and Trump won't be around forever). But Canadians would have to be willfully blind not to strongly consider taking active measures to reduce their dependence on the States. Agree, I read an article in WSJ this morning where a resident of a very poor county who said he likes what Trump is doing by firing all the Fed employees because they don't work and sit at their desks watching porn all day!
