I was playing the original Donkey Kong arcade game last night. Famously, in this game, the obstacles and enemies are randomly generated. Their timings and routes don’t follow a pattern, meaning you can’t devise a singular strategy to evade them.

I figured out that the only way to defeat an enemy that’s unpredictable is to become even more unpredictable yourself.

Perhaps the main problem the Shadow causes is it places often unnoticed walls around your experience, limiting your freedom.

I’ve always had social anxiety, so I almost always go straight home after completing a planned task or activity, and it almost never occurs to me to make an unplanned stop.
