Little Things That Made My Day (May 22)

Getting up early to read a book in bed. I started The Boyfriend Candidate last night and stayed up an hour later than planned because it was so good, and woke up early to finish it.

Trying a new meditation. Joe Dispenza’s meditations have been recommended by a lot of people I follow, but it was Julia Haart’s recommendation that got me to purchase and try them out. I don’t know what it is about it, but I felt like I was BUZZING this morning after my practice and that energy has continued throughout the day, and the evening meditation was the perfect reset between work and mom mode. Leaving my phone in my bedroom post-meditation likely sustained the feeling of peace and clarity I had post-meditation as well - something I need to do more of!

Finally using my Joy Creative x Grace Atwood stationery. I used the large pad to do a massive brain dump of everything that needs to get done this week, and the small pad for my 3 must-dos today (which I stuck to my monitor).

Documenting today’s workout for my future self (for a day when I need to move but don’t know what to do) - a 20 minute walk/run (selected solely because Fall Out Boy AND Beyoncé were on the playlist), a 10 minute bodyweight strength (an excellent travel option), and a 10 minute Pilates class. Selena and Aditi are two of my favorite Peloton instructors and the music and vibes were exactly what I needed.

I’m re-fixating on my go-to sandwich - a whole wheat sandwich thin with spicy mayo spread on one side, Calabrian chili paste on the other, and loaded up with grilled chicken, sprouts, sharp white cheddar, and vinegar chips inside the sandwich. Pair it with some more chips, a Clementine, and a Spindrift.
