TOKYO -- Casio Computer is ramping up its efforts to promote its scientific calculators abroad, pitching their value in fostering logical thinking, particularly in regions like Southeast Asia and Africa where they haven't really caught on yet.

In tandem with local education ministries and participating in public-private partnerships, the company aims to encourage schools abroad to use its scientific calculators regularly in classes, targeting a 19% increase in shipments to 27.3 million, including those in Japan, in fiscal 2025 compared to 2022.
