Sex Education is back on Netflix for its fourth and final series and we have all the information you'll need if you are wondering where the hit show is filmed. This new instalment has locations in Wales, of course, as well as Bristol and Gloucestershire.

A lot of the conversation around the series centres on where it is set and what era it's set in — and many of the locations might look very familiar. Mostly all of the show is filmed in Wales around the Wye Valley, Newport, Penarth and for series, three, Blaenau Gwent and Cardiff.

The show follows teenager Otis (Asa Butterfield) who lives with his sex therapist mother Jean, played by The X Files star Gillian Anderson. The awkward teen starts to gain status amongst his peers when he realises he can dispense advice to help their sex lives. At the end of the third series we saw Otis' girlfriend, Maeve, move to the USA and Jean give birth to her second child. The drama will continue in season four as the characters leave Moordale for Cavendish Sixth Form College.

Here are the new locations featured in season four, out now on Netflix, and underneath we'll add the locations you already know and love. For more locations used in season three and the first two instalments, click here.

New locations

Cwmcarn Forest

This gorgeous forested valley, which has its own visitor's centre, hiking trails and more appears in series 4 and is used as the road to Cavendish College, the new college that the ex-Moordale students are attending. If you do happen to go on a tour of Sex Education locations, this place is worth a visit, with lovely walks and some amazing views of the surrounding area.

St Fagans National History Museum

Some of the buildings at the open air museum

The museum on the outskirts of Cardiff can be seen in series four as its coach and Orchard Car Park is the setting for the brand new school called Cavendish College.

An open-air museum, St Fagans sees some of Wales' most culturally important buildings painstakingly rebuilt on site.

Ebbw Vale

Asa Butterfield (Otis) and Emma Mackay (Maeve) were spotted filming in the valleys town back in October 2022 as well as filming occurring in nearby Abergavenny too.

Monmouth

The Duke of Beaufort Iron Bridge in Monmouth is introduced as 'the bridge' in series 4, a different location to the first three seasons. That one was the Tintern Old Railway Bridge

The Duke bridge is crossable and has some beautiful river views.

Recurring locations

Llandogo

Two miles north of Tintern, Monouthshire village Llandogo (Llaneuddogwy is its full Welsh name) is on the River Wye and you can also walk to Offa's Dyke from the village, which has a pub, a church and a village hall. It can be seen in the show as cutaway shots from the main action.

Browns Village Stores

The family shop in Llandogo has been open since 1928. Maeve goes in during episode two, series one to buy something and in series two it's where Adam and Ola worked.

And on the outskirts of Wales... Symond's Yat

And if you were wondering where Jean and Otis' stunning hillside home is, it's not in Wales, but it's a canoe paddle down the Wye at Symond's Yat.

The stunning Norwegian-style chalet is nestled in the side of the valley overlooking the River Wye.
