A sergeant with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a bar fight which has him facing criminal charges, according to Fairfield County court records.

The Franklin County sheriff’s office said Sergeant Victor Dinardo has been placed on restricted duty since the incident happened following the Ohio State and Wisconsin game on December 2nd.

Pickerington police officers were called to Classics Bar on Stone Creek Drive around midnight to a report of several individuals fighting.

During the altercation, Dinardo ended up with a broken nose, according to Pickerington police.

Police said Dinardo, who works as an undercover deputy, claims he was attempting to arrest a subject inside the bar.

After further investigation surveillance, police said video shows a different story.

Police said Dinardo claimed he was working a narcotics case. Police said after attempting to verify that claim, it was determined Dinardo was off-duty at the time of the incident.

Charges of assault, falsification, obstructing official business, unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct were filed.

The Franklin County Sheriff Office placed Dinardo on restricted duties on December 19th when criminal charges were filed. He is scheduled for court hearings in May.
