D2C brand The Ayurveda Co (TAC) raised Rs 100 crores in a Series A funding round led by India’s largest consumer VC fund Sixth Sense Ventures. The funding round of the omnichannel Ayurvedic lifestyle brand also saw participation from actress Kajal Agarwal, a few notable start-up founders, and venture debt funds.
The company said it will use the funds to expand its offline presence, improve product manufacturing, expand research and development, and accelerate digital awareness around Ayurveda and TAC in the ecosystem.
The company has grown over 300 percent, over the past 10 months, driven by a portfolio of 100 unique SKUs with a strong omni-channel distributor network across over 20 EBOs, over 5,000 retail touchpoints, and online channels, the Ayurveda Co said in a statement. The firm added that it has also recently forayed into global markets, starting with the Middle Eastern region with its Dubai launch.
The company’s co-founder and CEO, Shreedha Singh said, “This Series A funding is a significant milestone for TAC and will enable the company to further its mission of bringing Ayurvedic wellness to a wider audience, especially Millennials & Gen Z to make Ayurveda mainstream.”
TAC was founded by Singh and Param Bhargava in 2021, and the company has products for skincare, haircare, natural makeup, as well as for wellness. The startup in the statement said that it is also planning to integrate and automate Dosha Consultation-based personalised skin, hair, and wellness routines.
