Incorporating deconstruction leads to boundless savings.

Incorporating Waste Diversion services like deconstruction into your renovation, remodel, or redevelopment project can yield significant cost savings. To illustrate the benefits of such an approach, we present a case study below that highlights the outcomes of our waste diversion benefits.

"Birch Group teams up with Washington County on Commercial Grants for Deconstruction, a first-of-its-kind collaboration in the Nation"

With 27 years of experience in rehabilitating dilapidated residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties, we have an in-depth understanding of the expenses involved in property renovation, remodeling, and redevelopment. Our exceptional expertise in building material reuse makes us unparalleled in waste diversion initiatives.

As pioneers, we collaborated with County and Developer to establish a program that offered grants for deconstruction, specifically salvage work in Washington and Ramsey Counties, while upholding sustainable business practices. Our success paved the way for the availability of these programs in both counties, making us the first in Minnesota and the nation to achieve this remarkable feat.

Why choose deconstruction over demolition?

Tax Incentives + Grants Available

DECONSTRUCTION VERSUS DEMOLITION

Demolishing structures generates waste which disperses lead-laden toxins and dust up to 400 feet from a job site, with effects lasting up to 30 years. There are no tax incentives and only creates 1-6 jobs per project.

Deconstruction offers a cost-effective and sustainable solution that helps you save money, reduces landfill waste and creates 10X more jobs per project versus demolition. Partner with Birch Group for your construction and demolition waste management needs and take the first step towards a greener future.

TAX INCENTIVES

Maximize the benefits of sustainable building practices by donating your salvaged building materials to our non-profit reuse store. As a donor, you are eligible for tax incentives on your income taxes, based on the fair market value of the donated materials. Our team of appraisers can guide you through the process and ensure that you meet all IRS requirements, maximizing your potential tax benefits.

The following is a sample tax donation scenario for selective deconstruction, provided by Green Earth Appraisers, Inc.

Creating greener spaces.

The birch tree symbolizes renewal, regeneration, and new beginnings, and these qualities are highly relevant to the reuse of salvaged building materials.

Just as a birch tree sheds its old bark to reveal a fresh layer beneath, salvaged building materials can be given new life and purpose through creative reuse. By using salvaged materials,
we can reduce waste, conserve resources, and create unique, character-filled spaces that honor the past while embracing the future.

Like the birch tree, Birch Group regenerates, restores + renews, building a better, more sustainable world.
