Congress negotiates deal to add five daily long-distance flights to DCA
The increase, which is part of the Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill, is opposed by Virginia and Maryland senators. Champions of the bill argue adding flights will lower flight prices by increasing competition, while opponents cite safety concerns associated with more plane traffic at National Airport. Fairfax County set to raise real estate taxes to meet county needs
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors plans to raise the real estate tax from $1.095 to $1.125 per $100 of assessed value to make up for decreased state funding and decreased commercial sector revenues.
