It's a fun start to the evening, followed by a chocolate martini for dessert!
What's in an appletini?
There's many ways to shake up an appletini, like using fancy, imported French apple brandy (Calvados) and hand-pressed apple juice. But there's a much easier, way, and this is it! This recipe calls for vodka, simple syrup, lemon juice, and an American bar mainstay—apple schnapps.
What is apple schnapps?
Descended from the German schnapps, which is a spirit made with fruit juices, American schnapps (notice the two "p's") are sweet, flavored liqueurs often used as mixers, as it is in this recipe. Specifically, this recipe uses Sour Apple Pucker, which has a flavor like the popular sour apple Jolly Ranchers candy.
