BEIJING -- The successor to Chinese President Xi Jinping's current chief of staff has yet to be named, in an unusual turn for a personnel move generally announced following the Communist Party's congress in October.
Ding Xuexiang serves in a chief-of-staff role as director of the General Office of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee. He became a member of the Politburo Standing Committee in October and is expected to be appointed vice premier in March.
