The Civil Services Examination, conducted by the UPSC every year, is arguably among the toughest competitive examinations in the world. Here, on is competing with some of the brightest and most highly-motivated young men and women for some of the most challenging jobs, nay careers, in India. However, there has emerged a kind of am industry around the IAS Toppers and the "success stories" of those who have cracked the examination in the previous year(s) are peddled as "formula for success". However, this is like teaching something the strategy to win a lottery. In this short video, I argue that more is to be learnt, not from the "success stories" but how the successful candidates meditated, overcame or circumvented the difficulties that came in their way.
