Japan plans $500m in loans for Indonesia's clean energy shift

Public-private initiative to propel tech exports by Japanese companies

BALI, Indonesia -- Japan will assemble loans of up to $500 million to help Indonesia adopt renewable energy and expand grid networks under a public-private decarbonization initiative.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced the collaboration agreement on Monday during bilateral talks in Bali.
