The 3rd International Conference on Negative CO₂ Emissions will be hosted at the University of Oxford by CO₂RE - The Greenhouse Gas Removal Hub, with financial support from UKRI.

Tuesday 18 - Friday 21 June 2024

Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford

#NegativeCO2Conference

360 in-person attendees and 400 online attendees

6 plenary sessions with keynote speakers and panel debates

Breakout sessions with 120 presentations and 60 posters

In-person networking and conference dinner

Conference platform with showcase and online networking

The first two conferences were conceived and held at Chalmers University of Technology, in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The impetus for the conference series is the rapidly-increasing importance of Greenhouse Gas Removal (GGR) in climate research and in meeting climate targets. This conference brings together scientists and experts across a wide range of disciplines and research topics including science and engineering, policy, economics and public perceptions. Our aim is to share the latest and best GGR research, bring together the expert community to forge connections, and create a platform for wider discussion of the role of GGR in climate action and sustainable development.

We welcome and encourage participation from a wide variety of communities interested in negative emissions. We aim for discussions at the conference to reflect a broad spectrum of international expertise and perspectives, including from traditionally underrepresented groups.

If you anticipate any barriers to you participating in the conference, including a need for financial support, please get in touch via co2re@smithschool.ox.ac.uk and we will do our best to support you.
