Do heart work, not hard work.

This thought came to me as I was teaching a class on AI. And I was explaining why we must become more human in the AI era. That as machines becomes more self aware we must become more self aligned.

Most people have been programmed to believe that hard work is the path to success. But hard work is often force. It is effort disconnected from identity. It is pushing against your nature instead of flowing with it. The result is exhaustion, burnout, and a life spent producing without fulfillment.

Heart work is different.

Heart work is the work that calls you. It is connected to your gifts, your purpose, and the unique way you were designed to contribute to the world. It still requires discipline, sacrifice, and excellence, but the energy comes from alignment rather than force.

What is aligned energizes. What is forced depletes.

The industrial age taught people to become machines. Produce more. Work longer. Ignore yourself. Suppress your humanity. But your greatest value will never come from becoming more machine-like. It will come from becoming more fully yourself.
