Day 6 Rams practice notes
Stafford under center!
T ferg slip on a slip block
Konata definitely has more zip after the catch
Great route and catch by CJ from Stetson
That Stafford to Davante connection is so gross
Getting open so quickly vs McDuffie
JWhitt impresses me with his field awareness. The second a catch is made he’s looking to block
T Ferg underneathe!
Defense celebrates after what looks like a scooped fumble by Dolac. Don’t know who ripped it in the pile
Wow CJ
Corner route, perfect throw and BARELY enough air out of reach of Lampkin. CJ quick late hands
Competition rn is real, some hand fighting by OL DL after play
Still watching blocking by TEs right now. Ferguson just missed a pickup in pass pro it looked like. Couldn’t tell if he got stepped on as the play happened causing him to lean away. No injury just an annoyance during play
Stuard really flies sideline to sideline. Lots of juice
Daniels still learning how to seal block in-line properly
Tru Edwards diving grab
Nate Varcarcel and CJ Daniels collide LB depth on a play inadvertently. They’re fine.
Stafford deep shot to Ferg with a step deep. Just out of reach.
Konata with a nice route underneath the play
Nice rep and catch for Whittington Chunk play
Good flow to the ball and backfield by NHG
Bennett throw to Mumpfield as he steps up and shifts right outside pocket. Gotta place that outside
That smoke call to Davante is so dangerous
Unspoken communication between them
Pass to Puka maybe bobbled? Looks INT by Forbes
Kyren so shifty on his gap reads. Lake fills the lane he quickly scoots left
Cam Lampkin I nthe box post snap on run support good block shed to give tackle assist
If Stetson can earn his spot these long developing playaction passes put defense in spot to defend deep or play him in the run
MaxKlare sighting!
Mcduffie ability to shed blocks against run could be part of his game we need to talk more about
Stewart rep vs Ferg on a wham block attempt
Stewart stronger
Ferg Drop on a flat route
Simpson first pass is a laser to 88
TAE TD OVER 22
Dotson LOVES running it at the GL
Grant Stuard great rep denying the TE wheel
Some strong tape for Stewart (10) today
Mario Williams TD. Very talented with the ball in the air
Konata patient setting up as rec threat to setting up block for run
Some near misses in the endzone by Stafford
Simpson at the goal line
Ty Simpson beautoful pass to CJ back of endzone, floated it just out of reach of the jumping LB
Ty has NFL arm. Launched it on the run
Twice I’ve noticed imperfect QB/C exchange for Ty
Trenches notes
really strong showing from the interior OL during run game stuff, Dotson-Shelton-Avila could be one of the better trios in the league when it comes to run, they mesh and stack bodies really well together
one rep: Poona is such a hard man to move. Rep where Steve and AJ double him on an inside run and the three don’t move, Ferg engaged, with 94, 94 sheds but not until play is probably over
Ferg can win run block reps for the first 2-2.5 sec of play but have yet to see him dominate an OLB
Warren vs Stew., good initial engage but Stewart sheds him
run rep Ferg vs Josaiah Stewart, good 50/50 battle. Ferg stays engaged, Stewart stronger than him and works them back into the pile to muddle the LOS
Max Klare absorbs Keir Thomas’ bull rush, doesn’t give up much ground if any, keeps him in front of him
Trost on a run his way, great engage and initial drive, has to be careful on his base an
allowing inside swim while holding pads, easy hold in the NFL. Big difference in the NFL with DL how they have stronger bases for counter moves
Dotson gets better each year, drives and engages LB, absolute road grader
Bill Norton strong as hell, engaged in a block, disenganged, then attacked the OL again and sent the guard stumbling back 3 yards into the pocket
Shelton vs Poona. Love to see this. Shelton with a spot help by Dotson before he leaves to grab an LB. Shelton gets lower than Poona, able to attack his shoulder and drive him enough to make a lane. Very strong rep by those two comboing the nose
Strong hands and fight by Limmer vs Kobie, stalemate
on that Simpson TD: Fox rushes right side vs Blaske, would be a major hands to face, but Blaske never disengages, gives up enough room for Simpson to stay pat then slightly fade away for his throw
Wyatt Bowles awesome initial punch passing off Hamilton inside, then scoops up twisting DL, both go for a neutralizing double strike and kind of stalemate lol
