Sort of. Many States have these weird scanner things at clubs and liquor stores that are supposed to validate the ID but they never seem to work -- one bar I was at scanned by German drivers license several times and then acted like it worked the third time even when it clearly didn't (I don't look young). I haven't bought a gun in 30 years so I don't know there.
