The app for independent voices

I made $93,321 in August 2025.

✍️ Newsletter: $38K/mo

πŸŽ™οΈ Podcast: $24K/mo

πŸ’Ό Sponsors: $23K/mo

🀝 Coaching: $5.2K/mo

πŸ“Ί YouTube + X: $2.8K/mo

Month 3 of Build in Public, and we crossed $1M ARR.

Here's how:

β€”

1: The Newsletter: $38K/mo

I'm "keeping the main thing, the main thing," saying no to other opportunities. It's paying off (up 12%).

But, I still haven't able to make a dent in retention. I have been investing in things that will help.

3 things I intend to launch soon:

a. Lead magnet

b. Aakash's Bundle

c. Even better topics in my content

If you want to keep up: news.aakashg.com

β€”

2: The Podcast: $24K/mo

We've been able to amp up the production on the podcast again. And advertisers keep coming back.

But, it's still been a disproportionate drain on my time, especially because I since I did a whole shoot in SF.

I'm prioritizing:

a. The rebrand

b. Better daily shorts

c. Tighter topic scripting

2025 Ads are almost sold out: news.aakashg.com/s/prod…

β€”

3: Sponsorships: $23K/mo

Some of the best feedback I've gotten since building in public was that this channel is under-developed.

So, I signed a few deeper partnerships with existing advertisers.

My focus here is:

a. Renewal, renewal, renewal

b. Conversion to more ad formats

c. Better handling this inbox (I can let it get lost)

Deeper > more: news.aakashg.com/p/spon…

β€”

4: Coaching: $5.2K/mo

As expected, this channel is growing fast, now that I opened up and talk about it.

But, I need to think about the disproportionate drain on my time and not over-indexing on services.

For now, I'm focused on:

a. Renewing

b. Building my group offer

It's very rewarding: intro.co/aakashgupta

β€”

5: YouTube & X: $2.8K

I've completely changed my X strategy, and the podcast continues to grow really fast.

But, I want this business to grow even faster.

I'm focused on:

a. Stronger podcast

b. Even more bangers on X

I'm building in public so others can learn and follow.

I've been inspired by guys like Pieter Levels and Adam Robinson. It's about sharing, not bragging.

After I pay my team, California takes 54%, and I support 2 little one's, I'm not paid like a Meta AI researcher.

But I'm loving the life I live. And that's what maters.

Hope this helps πŸ’œ,

Aakash

PS.2. Should I do this next month? I may stop.
