It's been close to a year since Dr Bart Jaworski, Prasad Reddy, Ankit Virmani, and I started the landpmjob.com program to actively help people find new positions.

It's hard to believe that five years ago, a stellar resume, proving that you can execute the product process masterfully and that you have good communication skills, would have easily handed you a product job within two to three months.

Now? You have to do, ideally, all of these things:

• Have a perfectly optimized LinkedIn profile

• Have a network of people willing to recommend you

• Apply with a perfectly customized resume almost as soon as the new position opens

• Post at least once a week on topics that are relevant to people who may want to hire you

• Have an excellent product portfolio online (That one felt useless to me just a few years ago).

• Be ready to proactively provide working feature prototypes for the product you apply for

• Hold cutting-edge AI knowledge that you can easily translate into your product work

• Demonstrate how you use AI at work and privately

Feels overwhelming, right?
