A nobleman proposed to Aisha, daughter of Sharif Amara bin Yahya al-Hasani, and he was bald. She did not consent to his wish and said:

Woe is me from a bald lover,

Ugly in gesture and disposition,

He seeks marriage with that which, if it were to come forth,

aiming for a slap with it, would not be slapped!

With a small head in need of cauterization,

And a face in need of a veil!
