Make money doing the work you believe in

I know a lot of you struggle to pray consistently. Here’s something I’ve been doing lately that has helped me.

I’ve been embracing the ancient practice of praying the Lord’s Prayer, but slowly spreading it out throughout the week instead of rushing through it all at once.

Why the Lord’s Prayer?

Because it’s what Jesus actually taught us to pray. When the disciples said “teach us to pray,” this is what he gave them. Every petition is a doorway into the heart of the kingdom.

Here’s my system:

Sunday: “Our father who is in Heaven, Hallowed be your name”

Monday: “Your kingdom come, your will be done”

Tuesday: “Give us this day our daily bread”

Wednesday: “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors”

Thursday: “Lead us not into temptation”

Friday: “Deliver us from the evil one”

Saturday: “Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory”

Instead of trying to cover everything in one sitting, I let one petition shape my entire day. Sundays are for praise and honor. Mondays align my heart with God’s Kingdom mission. Tuesdays I am asking for provision for my family and ministry. On Wednesday, I’m sitting with forgiveness. On Thursday, I’m asking what the real temptation is. Each day has a focus, and my soul knows where to go.

Why it helps:

The structure carries me when motivation doesn’t. I’m not starting from scratch every morning trying to figure out what to pray about. Tuesday is about daily bread. Friday is about spiritual warfare. The rhythm becomes second nature.

Slowing down like this has made the Lord’s Prayer feel less like a recitation and more like a map of the kingdom. You could spend a lifetime in any one of these petitions.

If you’ve been stuck, try it. Pick a day. Focus on one line. See where Jesus takes you!
