Hey Liz, thank you so much for coming back to comment and offer up further reading/listening (my favourite kind of comments). I've really enjoyed the conversation you started and how it has developed.

There are too many similirities between the death of democracy in 1932/33 Germany and the death we're seeing today. As some in the philosophy of knowledge world would say, too many similarities and repeat events suggest deliberate, targeted action rather than chance. It is intentional that these events seem to be repeating. These methods are tried and tested. Though history does not literally repeat itself, today's actors can and do try to replicate the actions of past actors.
