A few days ago I planted some onion sets in a planter on my back deck in the hopes they will make green onions this spring. Then this morning a squirrel dug around in the planter, I suppose looking to see if he had buried any nuts there last fall. In most of his holes he found nothing, but in one hole he did find one of the onions. Since it was small and round and hard like a nut, he took a few bites. Imagine his surprise!
